Our Story
Where It All Began
The Kiwanis Club of Greater Highland Park Foundation was born from a simple yet powerful belief: that every young person deserves a champion in their corner and a community that invests in their growth. Our founders recognized that the neighborhoods of Greater Highland Park were filled with talent, resilience, and ambition — but that many young people and families lacked access to the mentorship, resources, and opportunities needed to unlock their full potential. They saw firsthand how barriers to education, health, and economic stability could limit futures before they ever had a chance to unfold. Determined to change that, they came together under the Kiwanis spirit of service to build a foundation that would light the way forward — not just for individuals, but for entire families and neighborhoods.
From the beginning, we approached our work differently. We listened before we acted — to young people, to parents, to seniors, and to community voices that had long gone unheard.
