Our Team
Meet the dedicated professionals who lead the Kiwanis Club of Greater Highland Park Foundation with compassion, expertise, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting young people and strengthening families across our community.
Dr. Sarah Martinez
Executive Director
Dr. Martinez brings over 20 years of experience in community development and nonprofit leadership to the Kiwanis Club of Greater Highland Park Foundation. Her passion for uplifting young people began during her graduate work in social services, where she focused on holistic youth development and mentorship models. She has dedicated her career to creating inclusive environments where young people build confidence, discover their strengths, and access the opportunities they deserve. Under her leadership, the foundation has expanded its programs — from scholarships and health awareness to youth leadership and disaster relief — while maintaining an unwavering commitment to dignity, equity, and compassionate service for every family we serve.
Michael Chen
Director of Youth Programs
Michael has spent his 15-year career working directly with young people in underserved communities, beginning as a youth mentor and advancing to program leadership. His hands-on experience gives him unique insight into what truly motivates young people to grow, take risks, and believe in their potential. He is passionate about designing youth programs that go beyond the classroom — nurturing social skills, emotional resilience, and a sense of purpose. Michael works tirelessly to ensure that every young person who walks through our doors feels seen, supported, and inspired. He believes that with the right mentor and the right opportunity, any young person can build a life of meaning and impact.

Jennifer designs engagement initiatives that are purposeful, inclusive, and joyful, fostering real-world skills that enhance confidence and community belonging. Her work includes health awareness campaigns, youth leadership circles, and family support programs. She is especially committed to creating spaces where young people from all walks of life feel that they belong and that their voice truly matters.
